Lori Schlabach oversees Hester Street’s finances, human resources, contract management, compliance and general operations. She has played an integral role in successfully managing Hester Street’s growth over the last four years, including managing a budget that quadrupled in three years; overseeing the hiring and onboarding of new staff, and developing a contract management process to more efficiently manage the significant increase in fee for service work.
She also spent four years managing Hester Street’s development and communications, and four years coordinating fundraising and development operations at a local homeless organization. Prior to moving to NYC in 2008, Lori lived in small-town Ohio, where she worked in editing, graphic design, and marketing at a community newspaper and book publisher. She also spent two years teaching ESL in China. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Communication Arts from Malone University and was selected as a New York Community Trust Fellow in 2016.
