Deeply committed to leveraging real estate to facilitate social and economic growth, Briana joined Hester Street in 2019 as an urban planner with a background in real estate and economic development.
Prior to joining HST, Briana served as a Project Manager at West Harlem Group Assistance, a Harlem-based community development corporation. In this role, Briana worked alongside city agencies, community-based organizations and private-sector partners to guide the development of multifamily housing from pre-development to permanent financing.
Briana also worked as a Research Analyst and consultant at HR&A Advisors. In this capacity she supported the consulting team in determining market feasible strategies for affordable housing and mixed-use development proposals. She performed market, demographic, site and policy analysis to create presentations and draft data-driven recommendations. Briana earned a Master of Science in Urban Planning with a concentration in urban and economic development from the Columbia University Graduate School of Architecture, Planning and Preservation. Winning a GSAPP William Kinne Fellows Traveling Prize, her graduate thesis explored minority-led gentrification in Central Harlem.
