Formed in 2020, the NYCCLI Coalition is an alliance of community-based organizations and community land trusts (CLTs) convened by the New Economy Project working to advance the community land trust model as a tool to address the root causes of homelessness and housing instability in NYC. Together, coalition members advocate for new funding and policies, share resources and perform community outreach to support CLTs.
HST provides technical assistance to NYCCLI coalition members, using our expertise in community engagement, real estate development, and design to support members accordingly. Every year, we work alongside NYCCLI members to provide capacity-building assistance based on the needs of the organizations in the coalition. In this role, HST has supported the identification and selection of developer partners, created a project intake process, and developed an online platform to support the advocacy efforts of NYCCLI members based on their data needs.
