On Wednesday, July 26, Hester Street partnered with Next City and the Graduate Center for Planning and the Environment at Pratt Institute to present The Future of Our Field, a conversation on fighting anti-Blackness and embedding racial equity in the fields of architecture, planning, and design. Over 40 people attended the in-person event and networking reception to advance crucial conversations on racial equity and justice in our fields.
Huge thanks to our moderator Jerrod Delaine of Legacy Real Estate and panelists Leslie Finnie of Snøhetta, Quardean Lewis-Allen of the Youth Design Center, and Tiffany-Ann Taylor of Regional Plan Association for a rich and timely conversation on the importance of supporting Black leaders in architecture, planning, and design. We were inspired by all that was shared, and we look forward to continuing the conversation as we deepen our commitment to uplifting Black leadership.
We’ll be sharing more of our reflections on the conversation in the coming weeks. If you missed the live event, you can access a recording of the livestream in Next City’s webinar library here.
