Hester Street was honored with the prestigious Public Service Award at the 46th NYHC Annual Awards Program in December 2019. Centered on the theme “Inclusive By Design” this year, the Conference has been convening and acknowledging the work of housing advocates, stakeholders, community members and institutions for the past five decades.
Our team was recognized for our efforts around affordable housing and community engagement, particularly with Where We Live NYC: Fair Housing Together and the Bushwick Community Plan. The Conference also presented a video highlighting our approach and impact over the years, featuring partners from United Way of New York City, Make the Road New York, the NYC Department of Housing Preservation & Development (HPD), the Brooklyn Center for Independence of the Disabled and NYC Council Member Antonio Reynoso.
