In 2018, Hester Street took on the critical issues of segregation and discrimination, neighborhood preservation and civic engagement in our ongoing effort to ensure that cities are shaped by the people who live in them.
Throughout the year, we led the community-driven assessment of fair housing in NYC, the development of permanent homes for community-based organizations, and an approach to policy making that increases civic engagement.
