Casey re-joined Hester Street in 2020 as the organization’s Chief of Staff to support and implement goals and needs related to strategic planning, project management and systems change. She was formerly a Senior Project Manager with Hester Street driving planning and design projects in a wide range of program areas, from climate and social resiliency projects to public safety and health projects in neighborhoods across all five boroughs. She managed public engagement for the City’s fair housing planning process (Where We Live NYC) to amplify the voices of communities most affected by historic and present-day injustices in the fight for more equitable policies around housing and neighborhood investments.

With over ten years of planning experience, placemaking expertise and a passion for community-centered design, Casey constantly strives to find creative, inclusive ways to deliver concrete benefits to the communities she partners with. Prior to joining Hester Street, she worked with community-based organizations, local government agencies and private developers across the U.S. to activate public spaces, facilitate innovative engagement processes, and study how public life unfolded in parks, plazas, downtowns and campuses. She holds a M.Sc. in Urban Planning from Columbia University.
