Join Hester Street Collaborative in building community from the ground up by investing in our model of community-led design!
- Education programs like Ground Up and Citizen Designer Internships that give public school students hands-on experience in community improvement projects.
- Community design projects like Paths to Pier 42, which pairs artists, designers and ecologists with community members to create art and programming on an unutilized portion of the East River waterfront.
- Ongoing partnerships with LES-based community organizations like CAAAV, GOLES, AAFE and Two Bridges, who help us identify community needs and work with us to address them.
- Working with community groups throughout NYC by facilitating People Make Parks training workshops and assisting with project like the SMART mobile cooking classroom.
If you would like to commemorate Founding Executive Director Anne Frederick’s contributions to HSC and the field of public interest design, you can also make a gift in her honor to our new Community Design Fellowship Fund, here.
