HSC Volunteer Happy Hour
Have creative energy to spare? HSC needs your help!
Join us at our workshop on Wednesday, April 14th from 6:30 to 8:30, and help us develop new ideas for our Ground Up program at P.S. 134. Drinks and food will be provided:just bring your innovative ideas and desire to have a great time.
At this HSC Happy Hour, we’ll be playing with different art materials and prototyping elements of the project to help develop a long-term plan. This spring, P.S. 134 students in HSC’s Ground Up design education program will be learning all about food production and growing vegetables in their outdoor classroom and garden.
As part of these lessons, they will undertake a design project building tables for use in the school’s Outdoor Classroom that include artwork based on plants and vegetables that they’ve studied.
We look forward to your creative input to make this project a success. Stop by HSC at 6:30 on Wednesday, April 14th, or email Dylan House for more info.

We Love the People’s Plan!
Following an extensive community visioning and charrette process on the East River Waterfront, the OUR Waterfront Coalition (of which HSC is a member) has released "The People’s Plan for the East River Waterfront," a report that advocates for a redesign of the waterfront that will meet local community member’s needs.
After contributing design schemes, informational graphics, and the overall design of the People’s Plan report, HSC has designed and helped to distribute a wide-scale advocacy and promotion campaign called “We Love the People’s Plan, "including multi-lingual posters, postcards, buttons, and stickers. These materials are being distributed throughout the community in order to raise awareness and support of the People’s Plan, fostering a groundswell of grassroots support as HSC and other local organizations continue to advocate for the allocation of capital funds for the Waterfront’s renovation.
